How to stop yourself uninstalling your porn blocker

The easiest way around any blocker is to delete it, and most apps do nothing to stop that. Uninstall Protection turns removal into a deliberate process instead of a two tap impulse.

Why blockers get deleted

Deleting is the lowest effort way out. If the blocker can be removed with a long press on the home screen, it will be removed at exactly the wrong moment, and reinstalled an hour later with a worse opinion of yourself attached.

Turn on Uninstall Protection

There is a card for it on the Blocking tab, and the same switch appears under General in the Settings tab. Either one works.

  1. Open the Blocking tab and scroll to the Uninstall Protection card, or open Settings and find it under General.
  2. Switch it on. Android will ask you to approve Blockerflow as a device admin.
  3. Approve the request. The switch only shows as on once Android confirms it, so you cannot end up with a switch that says protected while nothing is.

How it holds

While device admin is active, Android refuses to uninstall the app. Turning device admin off is itself guarded by your accountability partner, which is the step that gives the protection its weight. Removing it is graded Strict, the same level as turning off the adult content blocker.

If you genuinely want the app gone, there is a clean route in Settings under Danger Zone. Uninstall App runs the challenge, removes device admin for you once you pass, and hands you to the Android uninstaller. You are never stuck with an app you cannot remove.

What the typing challenge looks like

If your partner is set to Myself, you retype this sentence exactly as shown: I acknowledge that I am trying to disable a core productivity feature. I accept the consequences of my actions and will not blame Blockerflow.

Accuracy and progress are shown as you type, and the Verify button stays disabled until the text matches. The effort and the pause are the point, and for many people that is enough to change their mind before the end of the sentence.

Close the other side doors too

Uninstalling is not the only shortcut. Two switches in the Advanced Blocking card cover the rest. Block unsupported browsers stops a second browser being installed to get around address checking. Block newly installed apps blocks anything installed after you set Blockerflow up, so a fresh app downloaded in a weak moment is stopped on first launch rather than discovered later.

Apps caught that way appear in your Blocklist tab marked Auto blocked on install, so you can see exactly what was caught and allow anything that was innocent.

Be honest about the limits

No app can stop someone truly determined, for example by factory resetting the phone. The goal is to remove the impulsive route, not to build a prison. If you find yourself working around the protection, treat that as the signal it is and talk to someone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still uninstall Blockerflow when I no longer need it?

Yes. Use Uninstall App under Danger Zone in Settings. It runs your accountability check, removes device admin for you, then opens the Android uninstaller.

Why does the app need Device Admin?

Device Admin is the Android feature that lets an app prevent its own removal. It is used for Uninstall Protection only.

What if device admin is revoked from Android settings?

Blockerflow re-reads the real state every time you open it, so the switch follows what Android actually reports rather than what was last tapped.
